Program Coordinator

Overview of Position

Full-Time Position
Salary Range: $58,500-$65,000

The Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing and overseeing various aspects of the Careers in Construction, a six-week construction training program that prepares unemployed and underemployed residents for entry level apprenticeship opportunities in the construction industry connecting them with the unionized building trades. The Program Coordinator reports to the Sr. Program Director and works closely with Instructors and the Construction Department.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage recruitment, outreach, and intake processes to ensure that eligible participants are successfully enrolled in the program.
  • Process applications and verify applicants meet the eligibility criteria; maintain applicants are informed regarding the status of their application.
  • Schedule and conduct screening interviews; document interviews.
  • Enter and update program data in Salesforce regularly and as needed/directed.
  • Sustain relationships with nonprofit partners and represent Rebuilding Together NYC at

    community meetings.

  • Research and conduct outreach to new community partners and meet with them regularly to

    maintain an ongoing participant wait list, relevant resources and ensure successful program referrals.

  • Coordinate with the Careers in Construction team to provide administrative support to the instructors, including preparing materials for day one and graduation.
  • Track participant attendance and draft dismissal, attendance, and disciplinary letters, as necessary.
  • Order program supplies and enter them into our inventory system.
  • Collect and oversee documents and information required for invoices, funder reports, etc.
  • Gather resources for the organization and participate in fundraising activities as needed.

  • Experience working in the nonprofit sector, preferably in an organization focused on workforce


  • Familiarity with Salesforce and/or database as well as Microsoft software required.
